HISTORICAL MOMENTS/EVENTS:
*First football player in Aliquippa History to be selected and play in the “BIG 33” All-Star Football Game in August 1969.
*According to others, played in the “Greatest College Football Game at Pitt Stadium”. October 17, 1970. Pitt 36-West Virginia 35.
*Played in a freshmen football game as the ‘Last’ football game and non-baseball event, at Forbes Field, the fall of 1969. (Babe Ruth hit his last homerun #714 and the first ever homerun to clear the roof in right field in his last baseball game there on May 25, 1935. Robert Clemente, Willie Stargell, Bill Mazeroski and other Pirate Greats played in the ‘Last Baseball Game’ on June 28, 1970.)
*Spearheaded and escorted Muhammad Ali and his entourage into the ring against Larry Holmes in the First Mega-Fight in the Caesar’s Palace Parking Lot, 10/2/80. (Forces had me playing a very high ranking; plains clothe security officer with access everywhere except the dressing rooms. I viewed that match among many others from the apron of the ring.)
*Witnessed in person the record setting shooting performance of Butler University in their NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship Game loss to Connecticut in 2011 in Houston, Texas. (Unless, another force dictates, their 19 FG percentage will be taken to my grave.)
*Witnessed in person “The Game of the Century”, as presented by the media. It was LSU at Alabama, November 11/5/11. Some called ‘IT’ the ‘epic center’ of the College Football Universe. (‘IT’ was my first ‘College Football Pilgrimage’, the opening game of my daily double. What I witnessed, is the standard for all College Football Events to equal or surpass.)
*More will be shared as we go.
